Do you know the geography of Europe?

Ever since I published United States (US): Geography Quiz, my readers have been asking me to create another quiz. The wait is over!

How good are you at European geography? Please take my quiz and find out. Be honest with yourself, and don't look at any maps or globes while taking the quiz — and don't do any Internet or library research, either.

The answers to the questions can be found in a table immediately above the Comments section. And, speaking of comments, please don't forget to post yours.

As a European, I felt quite confident that I'd get all the right answers, but there were some pretty good questions there. I got question 2 right, because one of my friends has been to Chisinau. Question 6 was clever, as I've been to Rome, but I answered Vatican City. Very clever. Great quiz.

So it is possible...I scored less on this one than on the US Geography test. Happily...you can only go up from getting 1 out of 10 right.

Awesome quiz Daisy!

Daisy Mariposa profile image

Daisy Mariposa Hub Author 3 months ago

Dave,

I'm glad you took time out of your very busy schedule to take the quiz.

When I created my Civil War quiz, I wasn't certain what kind of response I would receive. It was better than expected, so I created my U.S. geography quiz. Many people enjoyed that one, so I went on to European geography. This quiz holds the record for me for the most views in the first 24 hours following publication.

Starting studying Canadian geography...that quiz is next.

drbj profile image

drbj Level 8 Commenter 3 months ago

I knew six of the answers because I have visited those places, Daisy, but the bonus question stumped me. It looks like it could be a memorial to something sunken under the sea close to shore.

Or, the remains of a Venusian spaceship. Heh, heh.

Melovy profile image

Melovy Level 7 Commenter 3 months ago

I only got 6 right, which given I’m European means it’s time I went back to studying geography. (Mostly if I’d been to the city I knew the answer.) I have no idea about the bonus photo, which is worrying because it looks suspiciously like Scotland!

Daisy Mariposa profile image

Daisy Mariposa Hub Author 3 months ago

drbj,

Thanks for taking the quiz. Which of the six places have you visited?

The *mystery location* is not a memorial to something sunken close to shore, but it does commemorate something.

Daisy Mariposa profile image

Daisy Mariposa Hub Author 3 months ago

Melovy,

Six out of seven is the second highest score that's been posted.

The *mystery location* is not in Scotland. Here's another hint...It isn't in any one country.

alocsin profile image

alocsin Level 8 Commenter 3 months ago

For the bonus picture, I vote that you do both: put the answer in comments, but also write an article explaining more about it.

Daisy Mariposa profile image

Daisy Mariposa Hub Author 3 months ago

Aurelio,

That would be *duplicate content*...I've read posts in which someone said they commented in a Hub about something, and then wrote an article about what they had commented upon. Their Hub was flagged for having duplicate content.
